Director
Dr. Giorgi Arziani
Giorgi is a Managing Director at IONIUS and Director of Parvus Consulting. He is a power system planning expert with 16 years of professional experience in the energy sector. He played an active role in building the very first power system simulation model for Georgia, including the development of the National Grid Code and the Ten-Year Network Development Plan. His extensive experience in power system planning includes the development of the first HVDC model for interconnection between Georgia and Turkey and the facilitation of the first power quality study at the transmission level for the Georgian power system. Giorgi served as a manager of various local and international power system development and renewable energy integration projects. Giorgi holds a PhD in power systems engineering from Georgian Technical University and has authored more than 20 scientific articles and publications. He is a professor and outstanding lecturer at Georgian Technical university as well professional researcher in power system dynamics and power quality studies.

Dr. Irakli Samkharadze
Irakli is a Managing Director at IONIUS and Energy Advisor at OMNIA. He has over 10 years of professional experience in the field of European law and Europeanization policies with a special focus on energy and climate change. Irakli is a certified project manager (PMP) and he has supported various donor-commissioned projects on energy transition and approximation EU acquis in Southeast Europe. He has proven experience in cross-border project management and consultancy services funded by IFIs and other entities. He has been awarded Postdoctoral research grant at FU Berlin and several other academic scholarships. Irakli frequently contributes to peer-reviewed conventional and online publications and regularly teaching at different universities in Georgia and abroad. He is an Associate Professor and Head of European Integration Research Centre at Georgian National University. Irakli holds LL.M. in International and European Public Law from Erasmus University Rotterdam and Ph.D. in Energy Law (Tbilisi, Jena, Leuven).
